Boasting pocket springs, natural fillings a chemical free viscose cover, the Wool Supreme is perfect for those who want a quality mattress with a medium to firm support.To ensure the fillings stay in place, the mattress features a hand tufted finish, with a single black tuft in the corner to indicate the inclusion of the finest Hampshire wool.
As well as Hampshire wool; one of the softest wools available in the UK, the mattress layers of fillings also include cashgora wool, silk and soft English spun cotton.
The unique set up of the interior is made up of 1000 inner pocket springs, with 1500 mini pocket tablet springs on both sides for heightened support and comfort.
Housed in their own cloth sleeves, pocket springs are small in diameter compared to open coils and are totally independent of any neighbouring springs.
The springs are able to move freely so the load on one is not affected by any surrounding springs, providing piston-like support to each part of your body.
An added feature that’s reserved for premium mattresses is side-stitching; a labour intensive and intricate technique that takes many years to master.
Using a long upholstery needle and high-tension twine, the side stitching process involves sewing the outer row of springs to the border of the mattress.
Side-stitching increases the sleeping surface by 20% by providing edge-to-edge support across the mattress and prevents the border from bowing out over time.
